Atelier 2. Scratching the surface to trigger the imagination.

Somehow I am drawn to not reporting about today’s event that took place as part of “Atelje 2″. Not that I don’t want to. Something similar happened to me while we were there (ain’t it so Andreja , doing the task. The task / suggestion given to us (Andreja, Ryuzo, Snježana and Gregor) by Snježana.

Before doing the last part of the task, which was reporting to videocamera my sensations of what was going on while doing the task, I had to sit down to let and to wait sensation or even better newly acquired information integrate into me and form a state which could be reported from and about. So is this reporting to website. I’m getting the idea: best is to write from the very experience of today and not to go away from it, or detach from it in order to be able to describe it.

A simple task of visual and tactile observation of partner combined with speech in form of reporting to videocamera about what one has just experienced, proved to be almost a script, a score for a improvisational performance. A choreography of two couples working on given task was as tangible as obvious, though choreography was not part of goals of the task.

The task also proved to be simple travel into each other and one self. At the same time. Loss of anatomical hierarchy (leg is attached to hip, head is attached to spine…), loss of gravity-governed spacio-temporal orientation and loss of identity (letting physicality of other becoming part of one’s own physicality, appeared along with this plunge into the task and oneself.

With above written I am just scratching the surface, I hope it triggers some imagination. And to wrap the travel of imagination, we all discovered the vast space between intimate and sexual level, which are in everyday life tightly connected and leave no space for exploration.

Though the atelier finished in a soft way, it left in me a frozen image that will be defrosted as we continue tomorrow.
